I’ve been sick the past few days, and am finding these three things relevant to each other:

1.  the evolutionary fact that whales and seals and sea lions evolved first from the ocean onto land, then decided to return to the water.

2.  Bjork’s beautiful “Oceania”:

You have done good for yourselves
Since you left my wet embrace
And crawled ashore

3.  the fact that gargling salt water soothes a sore throat
