Code

I’m a developer, currently working at kick-ass Liquidus, where I was just named Employee of the Year (w00t!). I work in ASP.Net (both VB.Net and C#) and SQL Server. I’m also quite familiar with PHP and MySQL, and I’ve worked with Python/Django and Ruby on Rails.
My role: implementing designs, writing the server-side code, creating, programming and managing the database backend. I’m not a designer–but I work closely with designers, and I do know a lot about front-end technologies: CSS, Ajax, jQuery.

If you want to talk to me about a development project, small or large, please have at it.

Some Stuff I’ve Worked On

On Li’l Puffs, I worked with a designer to create this site. I wrote the HTML, CSS, Javascript, and coded the front-page slideshow and some other Ajax. Later, I helped implement their shopping cart. I highly recommend their marshmallows by the way. They are amazing.
I was/am co-founder of dishcrawl.com. I’m no longer actively working on it but still think it kicks ass. Anything led by @ladyleet is going places.

Past/Prologue

This summer I did a stint at the University of Chicago Booth School, doing C# development. Before that, I was at the now-all-but-defunct North Suburban Library System.

Please note: Due to NSLS’s funding shortages, some of the sites may be unavailable.

In kind of a cool twist, there’s currently an interview on the site with David Heinemeier Hansson, who is the creator of Ruby on Rails.

Wordpress Implementation; rolled legacy HTML design into custom theme. (I’m pretty good at this and it’s not too hard. Please let me know if it’s the sort of service you require.)

Defunct or Near-Defunct Projects

Digital Past
PHP/MySQL
Unfortunately, due to funding issues, Digital Past is no longer available. I should have at least taken screen shots of it. Most of it was third-party software (ContentDM). I used PHP, MySQL, and Prototype to build an Ajax-powered social layer over the software. Users could add free-form tags to images, upload their own related images, geotag and comment. For commenting, I extended WordPress’s built-in commenting and spam controls so they could apply to individual image records. It’s really depressing because it could have been a very cool site.
